OP,

Just about every job I ever had got old after a while. Some took a few days, some took a few years. Life is too short to be miserable, sometimes you don't know how miserable you are until you are looking back. If you are good, you will be sought after, and the compensation will show that. Employees are in the driver's seat at the moment. Try to negotiate more pay, more vacation time and make the switch.

350 acres will never be family sustaining with that attitude that it will never happen. Add more profit, add more land (in that order) and do what it takes to make it sustain itself and then you can be your own boss all the time.
