Central Missouri | You dont have to get out on first notice day if you have the position in your futures account. You can actually take delivery if you want. You get a delivery certificate for 5k bushels and you start paying storage to the location you osn the certificate at. You can actually load out your grain if you choose but you have to follow delivery rules which means no truck load out.
If you stay long after first notice day and you get delivered on with a delivery certificate you can redeliver that certificate any date prior to contract expiration or you can pay the associated storage and redeliver it against the next futures contract.
Its a game farmers dont want to play in thus its wise but not required to get out prior to first notice day. | |
