Eastern WA | That’s really cool that your son is interested in geodes/rock hunting! Unfortunately I don’t have any idea on where to hunt for geodes.
But if you/him/anyone is interested in geology, I recommend Nick on the Rocks on YouTube. He is a geology professor who mainly focuses on PNW geology but he has tons of interesting videos out there. Nick on the Rocks is his PBS videos but I think some of his videos are under Central Washington University or Nick Zentner Geology. They have filmed some of his lectures that he put on for the public in his community. My personal favorite was the one he did on the Liberty gold.
