Chebanse, IL.....

boog

Back in the '70s we used to fly to & land at your Redwood Inn on the east side of DNV. They had a grass strip at the restaurant. We also had a Redwood Inn here @ Kankakee, which everyone over the age of 30 misses almost every day. They were the greatest.

But....when it comes to seafood in the midwest (big difference!), I don't think anything ever matches "Morris Bryants" in Lafayette when they had their "all you can eat seafood buffet" on Friday nights. You picked out live lobsters if you wanted & they kept bringing them to your table....cooked. I think at the time the price was big...but still unbelievable. I think we were paying $12 or so for buffet seafood. And there were lots of choices of seafood, not just lobster. It was presented very well also, definitely not a hog-trough. But I believe they are sadly long-gone. We'd fly there 3-4 times per year.
