| Cholesterol is a necessary component to survive. There are studies that show that often it is the quality of the cholesterol that matters much more than the amounts. He stated that he has severe reactions to statins. If his doctor is still recommending it he isn’t listening to his patient.
No one should blindly trust their doctor. If I go to a Ford dealer it would be very rare for the salesman to tell me that a GM product would suit me better even if it is true. We need to treat doctors with the same type of caution.
It’s not about thinking we know more than a doctor but we do need to be aware that they do have biases and they won’t always prescribe what is best for us. | |
