I wonder how much of the foot issues are genetic v environmental. Stud/show bulls are feed hot all their growing days and walk from feed to water to pen when growing. Did they have a chance to walk large pastures grow on regular hay grass low protein feed like the majority of bulls? Some of this pics they can be cleaned up with a good foot trimming. Not say all but I think stud or show bulls could looked at a little different.

Dunno about Texas but don't think I've seen a breeder here in a lot of years that only used this for growing bulls.

Everyone uses added grain - - - some just some oats, some as much high energy feed as possible and some at any point in between those points but NO ONE ever fed just grass hay for growing bulls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
