It takes a lot of CO2 to frack NG and crude oil out of the ground.
Do NG and oil pipelines use electricity?
Gas is already coming up in large amounts when they're drilling. If you were drilling for gas here, you probably would not have to frac anything. Fracing is mostly for oil, as there is so much gas production here that gas is basically worthless and would be flared off if not for the state law mandating its capture.
Quite a few wells and pipelines use some sort of gas to begin with, until REC can get power to them. |
