Even if their feet can handle a hot ration, their nuts often can't. A Canadian study some years back tracked bulls fed a hot ration compared to bulls fed less hard. The drop out rate was higher every year going forward for the hot ration fed bulls. Lost interest in bulls that look like an Ace Reid cartoon 60 days after turn out, a long time ago.
