Subject: RE: Low percentage of questions about Deere

When I bought my 2016 8r, it was far cheaper to buy activations with the tractor than get set up with 3rd party like Trimble. Basically I bought an updated processor with the guidance package, a receiver and away we went. An extended display helped out so I didn't have to run everything through one screen, but that was only 1,000 to add that. I don't remember excactly, but I'm thinking the receiver was 5-6k with activation, the processor was maybe 2500 and the extended display about 1,000. So 9k vs 18-20k turnkey through a 3rd party??? I can understand the argument if you're setting up a tractor from ground zero, but the newer equipment is integrated enough it's a lot cheaper to stay with the brand you have, IMO.
