I'll pretend you're not joking......RIB stands for Refuge in Bag and goes back to the early 2000 when we were required to plant a certain percentage of our acres to non traited seed.   I think the threshold was 5% per field.  For several years we were spot checked and our compliance or lack there of was reported to somebody.  If we didn't comply for several years in a row we were not able to purchase traited seed.  After several years of that the refuge seed was simply mixed with the traited seed and you have Refuge in Bag seed.



What he said. The refuge seed is the off colored stuff compared the rest.
