What insecticide program did you use at planting?
I tried a very similar program this year and it was an unmitigated disaster…
About 75 acs of Epley’s and 25 acs of Pioneer NGMO planted into cereal rye on hog manure.
We use an 80/20 blend of 32 and ATS banded 2x2x0
My plan was to toss in some bifenthin in a very early post pass… VE-V1 timing.
We were a couple days from spraying and the corn was V1-V2. The Epley’s got absolutely annihilated pretty much overnight by army worm. We sprayed it ASAP but the damage was done.
We ended up having to replant all of the Epley’s. The seed treatment on the Pioneer controlled them and the Pioneer had a 100% perfect stand.
Makes me very nervous to try this again if things can go sideways this fast.
