Subject: RE: Replanting with crop insurance

Southern MN
According to my agent you can replant soybeans into corn without affecting anything. As long as you do not take insurance on the soybeans planted into corn acres it does not affect your corn guarantee and anything you get for soybeans does not have to be reported and do not affect your corn guarantee on the whole farm. Replanting soybeans on soybeans basically changes nothing, but the beans harvested are added to the rest of the field for your insurance guarantee. Believe fed crop pays something like $30/acre once for replanting. Don’t know if you are paid replanting soybeans into corn fields, am guessing not. Probably got something wrong but that is what I understood.
For us it looks like replanting the corn holes to soybeans is a gamble that could pay off if the holes do not drown out again and we can get it planted in the next 7-10 days.
