If you think you now have a handle on the deer, I would replant them. I agree with Wilson. We have never had any type of bean make much if it was heavily damaged by deer early on. If you don't have a handle on the deer, I would continue using what you have to lure them in the open and just keep thinning the herd.
The deer are about average this year, terrible, but average and they'll continue to be a problem. With indeterminate beans that didn't have this early drought, they typically outgrow the deer pressure and make 40-50bu beans. The drought just kept them from keeping up and outpacing the pressure. . |
