I don't think he meant to be negative toward those affected. It is just that the market expects several mullion acres to be abandoned or destroyed each year, its kind of normal thing, unfortunately you are in a bad area 'this year' as far as crops go.
I feel for all affected, especially those with devastating erosion issues and flooded buildings and homes.
