I agree with your post. When I was dairying farming we tried working with different organization and senators to try to get these people in the system with a 2 year work permit, if you committed felon you would be deported. It got pushed aside every time most of time by usually the conservative right wing and some Democrat who supported the unions. But in reality non of those people had a plan to fulfil those jobs besides some rhetoric that in reality was not reality for the situation. The ball in in their court now if they want fix it. If they want or not it could turn into a disaster with empty grocery shelves and hipper inflation. Just for some to know most of the immigrants are paying SS tax and income tax because most employers won't by law hire the unless they have SS number. Whether it is legit or not is not the employers responsibly by law. I shouldn't involved with this discussion as in reality it won't affect me personally but since I was in the trenches at one time I have knowledge on this subject.
