MN | For the farm I'm on quickbooks online now, outrageous for payroll and a subscription. Not sure what to do if I get audited, my old quickbooks gets locked out in a year and won't let me export anything.
Since you pay for each business online now, where the desktop you can just create another file, I've been messing with gnucash. I've imported it for a second business that doesn't have as many transactions, and no employees.
Imports everything from my bank, does an ok job on a lot of stuff, and it's on my computer again. If I can figure out payroll on it, the $2000 I'll have to spend on qbonline next year is done.
Anyone use a separate payroll service? Something you set up, shoot them your employee hours, and it spits out your numbers? I've never used one, but that's an option.
Reports are not fun on gnucash. A major disadvantage. | |
