Detach should not be a problem. Back in the day I used a flat rack on a running gear to haul my corn head when head cart was tied up. I would park in a ditch or a swale that leaned towards combine to hook or unhook.

The issue you will have, but is easily accommodated, is a cornhead needs the row units higher in the air(tipped upwards), for the combine faceplate to grab head. Can use blocks, but was easiest to find a swale.
