Why? I trust a decent C hitch more than a ball. Consider the angle stress? The limited connection, from one side. I see more than a few ball hitch failures. Solid pin, tied in.
Because it's illegal.......


What laws state that? Unless you are pulling multiple trailers, I've never seen a law that requires a pintle or ball on interstate. At least here in SD. A header trailer is an implement of husbandry anyhow.
