Southwest Indiana | Had the same situation in my county few years back. The school system wanted to build a $48 million new school complex. It would increase land property taxes about $8 or 20% per acre.
When I raised the concern of the increased tax costing a guy farming 2,000 acres around $16,000 a year the school representative told me I just needed to make more money.
The school employees very much out of touch with reality. Needless to say it was a referendum and failed epically when it came to a vote. | |
