Subject: RE: Replacement for FarmerGPS?

Middlesex County, Ontario
You can build a single antenna/receiver system that uses a $40 gyro in the autosteer box for side hill compensation.

Or you can build a dual antenna/receiver system that uses the difference between antenna height for side hill compensation.

The gyro or dual system is also factored into the heading calculation. If you don’t have a gyro or dual then there is no slope compensation.

It looks like you have Novatel antennas and no autosteer? If you have a way to connect those antennas to a windows machine then you should be able to use them with AgOpenGPS as a light bar right away. The light bar in AgOpenGPS has some different features and can take your heading into account. Many find it easier to follow with hand steering than a normal bar.
