NEMO | I'd definitely want to know the details of the contract before you buy.
I know of a couple that put their ground in some pasture type program. Land lays pretty nice and could be farmed. Lady made a comment once they couldn't break it out to farm it a few years because of the pasture program.
No idea if it is the same program. But what seems attractive at the time may not be 5 or 10 years down the road when things change.
It use to be common practice around here to seed some ground down every 3 years or so for grass pasture or hay and take an equal amount of grass pasture or hay and convert to row crops. I'd hate to have my hands tied for more than 10 years to a single binding practice on a tract of land. | |
