South Texas | The recoil you feel is the force it takes to get the bullet to speed. Force equals mass times acceleration. So if you accelerate more slowly, but to the same speed, it takes less force. In recoil, this is felt as a lighter kick that lasts longer. And this is the reason a 6.5 creedmoor will fire the same weight projectile the same speed as a .308 but with lower recoil. The creedmoor will have a longer barrel to do so, allowing the longer time needed. | |
