West Central Wisconsin | Dad bought an AMF Ski-Daddler in the late 60's or early 70's. It was a single cylinder, 292?, with a 15" track. We had a lot of problems with it as I recall. In 1973 he traded up? for another Ski-Daddler with a 399 Hirth twin cylinder with electric start and an 18" track. More reliable but after the starter failed it was hard for this 12 year-old to pull start. In 1976 he bought a Scorpion Stinger with a 290 JLO? That machine was easy to pull start and gave a descent ride. That was the last sled on the farm until my brother remarried a girl twelve years ago that came with a couple of Polaris machines of that era. Don't know the size but have ridden them and realized that snowmobiles have come a long ways in comfort from the 70's. | |
