The five most expensive farm sales in Brazil in 2024 were all located in Mato Grosso.

The most expensive farm sale in Brazil in 2024 was a farm located in the municipality of Sinop in northern Mato Grosso. The 90,000-hectare farm (222,300 acres) sold for R$ 15 billion (approximately $2.5 billion) or R$ 167,000 per hectare (approximately $12,650 per acre). The farm has cleared areas for soybean, cotton, and corn production as well as pasture for cattle ranching.

The farm occupies both sides of a major highway in the region and has three separate locations within the property with grain storage, equipment sheds, worker accommodations, and a lake at each site.

The second most expensive farm was a 90,000-hectare farm (222,300 acres) in Paranatinga which sold for R$ 7 billion (approximately $1.16 billion). The third most expensive was a 66,000-hectare farm (163,000 acres) in Nova Ubirata which sold for R$ 5.88 billion (approximately $980 million). Fourth was an 88,000-hectare farm (217,360 acres) also in Paranatinga which sold for R$ 5 billion (approximately $833 million). Fifth was a 122,000-hectare farm (301,340 acres) in Sao Felis do Araguaia which sold for R$ 4.5 billion (approximately $750 million).
