Subject: RE: John Deere news today

Waldron, MI
My experience has been totally different than most of you. We had been dealing with a single location Deere dealer that was acquired by a much bigger chain probably at least 5 years ago now. The dealer was good when it was an independent store but but things have gotten better since being bought out. They will deliver parts daily from spring to fall and twice a week through the winter (I'm 30 miles from the store), parts availability has improved because they can transfer from one of the other 16 stores. I can use their online portal to check parts inventory and place orders but there are 2 or 3 excellent parts people I can call if I need them to look something up. They kept most of the service techs that I knew and trust. A couple times a year they put on clinics either for harvest or planting or maybe just a AMS class. Those can get a little sales pitchy but they also do a good job talking about how to maintain, operate, and improve the equipment. About the only complaint I have is they don't seem to be as aggressive/competitive on equipment prices but I think that pretty much all dealers are over priced right now so that could be more of the times equipment market right now.

Overall my experience dealing with a 17 store dealership has been positive. They are the reason we keep running Deere equipment.
