Subject: Wonder if the 50 year cycle is a generation thing?

Resets have occurred in 50 year cycles
1930's
1980's
2030's will be the next one

Makes one wonder if that is the length of a generation? Seems there were certain events that caused larger birth rates and perhaps 50 ish years later there is more retirees without anyone to carry on the business and more land comes to market and drives the price down. With people living longer, I wonder if the 50 year cycle has slowly been growing a few years longer each generation???

I personally think that government policy has more to do with the profitablility of farming than anything else. A few payments here and there, a requirement for ethanol/bio diesel included into regular fuel, full depreciation in 1 year for some purchases, etc. Government tightens a few things up and way more land will start hitting the market and start dropping the price. Government keeps supporting farmers and things will carry on. Lots of guys have been calling for "the sky to fall" for years now and have missed out on some very good times.
