I would use either 4 1/2 or 2 7/8 oil field pipe. make the posts about 10 feet long and use a pounder to put them in the ground about 4 or 4.5 feet. hang the guardrail with 1/2 bolts. use a cutting torch to make the holes. or i would use the galvanized octagon posts. more and more fencing places are starting to carry them. they look like a forever solution. but also the most expensive
