From what I read and understand... processed meats are not the healthiest for you.  That would include items like bologna and hot dogs, and probably sausage might be included in that as well.  Processed meats tend to have higher levels of nitrates, sodium, and some added sugars.   A pork burger - made of just ground pork - I would not include in that mix.  If you are making your own sausages, you have an idea of what is going into them, and you can decide whether it is healthy or not.



Man has been preserving meat for thousands of years and not having problems. What is the problem now? The advertising companies were paid to demonize meat however they could, even going so far as faking medical studies. There is no problem eating nitrates or sodium as long as you have functional kidneys. They are good at getting rid of anything in excess except sugar. Sugar is the poison that causes much of the problem in todays diet, that and seed oils.
