Hooker Twp,Ne | Are you both in good health. I took mine out when I was in my 40s. They wouldn’t insure my wife do to health reasons. You really need to talk to a good LTC attorney. Selling your farm to your son at a discount will throw a red flag with Medicaid if it should come to that. If one of you need LTC then there are some options available as the remaining spouse at home is community spouse and won’t be impoverished. Each state is bit different but most have 60 month look back. If you are both in good health then I’d be headed out the door and looking into LTC ins. If neither in good health I’d be headed to a good attorney. Be careful not all attorneys understand how Medicaid works. Going to cost you some bucks either way to protect your son( as he could end up having to pay more for the farm) I’d look into an attorney. Good Luck It’s no fun believe me I’m right in middle of it | |
