What’s the chance of a dvd going the way of floppy drives and the dodo birds?
Pretty high, but I think you're ok for the foreseeable future. Enough disks out there, they will have external drives for a long time to come. Windows 11 still supports floppy disk drives even though no PC has come standard with one in almost 15 years, if not 20.
I've used 20+ year old burned CD-Rs within the last month to retrieve an old file I needed, so they do last as long as they're taken care of. |
