South Central MN | Looking at the toy section in Walmart is a good example of stuff that gets purchased and tossed after a short time of use. Most of that stuff kids will break rather easily if it doesn't fall apart on its own. They get bored of it quickly too.
When I was growing up didn't have near as much stuff like that. Mostly wood blocks, some Legos, a few toys (usually made of metal) and outside was a pile of sand with some hand-me-down tonka toys that lasted for years and a small shovel to clear the "worksite" of cat poop before starting everything up. | |
