Near-north Ontario, French River | Im planning on SRWW after sweet corn this year. Have done it in the past with good results although a fungicide spray is perty much a must due to disease issues. Sweet corn was harvested a 10 days ago, and has since been disced twice to help break down the residue in hopes of lessening the potential for disease in the sping. The plant is to get the wheet in around the 22-25 of sept then apply 40-50pounds of N in the spring. Normally we would apply 90 N but Im counting on residual N from the sweet corn crop to help me out. Last time I did this i didnt account for the residual N , in the fall I had wheat that was a good 12in in height, by summer it yielded 100Bu but combining was slow as it was all lying flat on the ground. Too much growth !. |
