This may sound stupid, but talking about distance between internodes made me think. Have there ever been University tests using mepiquate chloride (Pix) to shorten the internode length. I am from the south and this is what is done in cotton regularly to keep it out of a vegatative state. I don't know if it would even work on beans, just a thought.
