They don't. My 6300 is the worst cold-starting tractor I've ever owned. I have the big starter and battery option which means that it'll turn over but it won't catch. Now plug it in outside and you have a whole 'nother problem, the engine starts but can't turn the transmission fast enough to run properly. It will sit there and shake for 30 seconds (no typo) then twist off the driveshaft between the engine and tranny. Then you'll go see your JD dealer and he'll tell you that a new shaft is just over $1000. That's only if it didn't destroy anything else under there when it let loose. That's with using the recommended HyGaurd in the tranny. That tractor stays all winter in a heated shop or it would be useless. I hate that little POS. It's getting replaced by a Challenger MT5something asap.

I suggest you plug it in and put a magnetic heater on the transmission and go have coffee for four hours. Also, they have a preheater if you push the key in, don't use ether on it.
