Eastern Iowa | Can't speak from experience of a 16 row but have run a 12 row for several years. They are nice planters as they do allow for increased time between fills, no lids to take on and of (or lose going down the road), allows you to refill bulk boxes with different seed that currently being planted (turn the augers off) when it is handy and not necessarily when you run out. We built a PWM circuit to regulate auger speed rather than getting off the tractor and walking back to the planter to adjust auger speed which is a plus when trying to fill all the individual boxes quickly from the bulk tank but then want to slow the augers down to just maintain seed level. Drawbacks are the weight of these planters. They are heavy machines which which I don't particularly care for but am dealing with for the time being. | |
