NE IA | seeing more and more metering tubes going on planters last few years because they don't plug. Been running orifices last 12 years with virtually no trouble. Currently putting together a new fert system for different planter and stuck on which way to go. It seems like the orifice route is a cleaner install and trust that I am getting consistent rate with them. Rates from field to field (20-40 gal/ acre) range on corn not an issue so far with same orifice. Want to try using on soybeans as well so would have to change disks out(5-6 gal) in that scenario, but not a deal breaker. What's the story on the metering tubes and will they work good for what I'm doing? Can we assume consistent rates with the metering tubes? Using hydraulic centrifugal pump with pwm to dual tube placement out the back. Orifice set up would use section control (3 sections on 16 rows) and check valves vs metering tubes using electronic zip valves( individual row) or something similar. sections vs individual row is just the way it was quoted as of now. | |
