| I received a new FSA map with revised acre determinations and a thirty day right to appleal the acreage computations. I understand the increase in crop acres since I have cleared an old building site and converted some pasture to cropland, but the official lines presented inclue several deletions for pushup and narrow base terraces that range from .53 to 1.7 acres. No terraces that have grass cover less than .5 acres are outlined and deleted. Is this the practice in your county? Does the local comittee, Iowa state office, or national handbook establish the protocol to make these deletions?I realize that the set aside areas of past programs had contorversies about including grass land idled for conservation purposes and including it as set aside to meet the acre reporting requirements of the 1980's era programs. Locallylots of land rents on the basis of the official FSA cropland acres multiples. Is this the normal practice for cash rent determinations in your area?
